Free Patterns :
- start with an easy pattern, such as a balloon : Iris folding balloon pattern
- Google “iris folding patterns” and you will find hundreds!
Tips :
- look for cheap 10 packs of sellotape to stick on the paper strips
- use old magasines, books, sheet music, wrapping paper and paper shopping bags for the paper strips
- the backing card needs to be stronger – you may need to invest a little and also buy some sharp cutting scissors
- we found glittery paper to be the most effective for the Iris, but some people use buttons, or a small picture, or other decorations they may find
- when you are used to Iris folding, pre-cut the paper strips to length, preparing them on the table in the right order, then stick them on the card – it’s quicker
